Poodles traditionally have part of their tail chopped off (not all of it, just to make it shorter) and that had already happened when I got my puppy. The end of her tail is slightly crooked and I feel so bad for her. :(

Aw, I do too and I don't even know her :( I bet she is perfect the way she is though
It's just aesthetic, assholes only do it to make their pitbulls look more "gangsta", fuck that shit, if you do it you are dumb motherfucker. It's not healthy for your dog.
Docked tails can have their health advantages. For excitable breeds like boxers, it can curb them breaking their tails on something. A some breeds have been engineered with docked tails, actually.
Yeah, I have two boxers and I can confirm that (before we got them) they get their tails docked so they don't break their spine. Plus, their tails aren't the fluffy kind that hit you and its like "awww haha" its like a whip so it would hurt. Its mostly for their sake though.

My riding instructor had to rush her cocker spaniel to the vet because he kept wagging his tail so hard into the table, the end cut deeply and he had to have it removed :(
We rescued a puppy when I was little and almost all of her tail was gone because someone decided to try to freeze it off. She was the best dog any one could ever have.
At first I thought that it was a picture of a dog after someone purposefully makes their floppy ears look like they stand upright which is super cute... After reading the comments I have concluded that the ears have been permanently modified and I don't agree with that
Well, in this case, regarding the fact that everything looks EXACTLY the same except from the ears, it's probably just been edited. But yes, people actually do that.
It spawns back when dogs used to be guard dogs (that's why you see it more often in Dobermans, rotties, pitbulls, etc...) as well as dogfighting. Ears and tails are an appendage that could easily be ripped off by another dog or intruder, so it's docked to give the dogs the advantage. It's pretty unethical for this day in age.
Why do people even crop ears and dock tails? It's just aesthetic. They're perfect with floppy ears and long tails, asshole.
My collie's ears are tipped, but it didn't harm him. We just taped the very end of his ear down until it stayed that way, it's harmless and the dog doesn't really care. It's common for show dogs.
It's not just for the advantage, when they were guard dogs they cut the tail or ears for the sake of making them stronger and more fierce but it's also very dangerous because some dogs can't handle it and die from bleeding too much
Cropping ears is a terrible, serves absolutely no perpose other than visual preference. They tale a long time to heal and can easily get infected. Pitbull tails are vicious though haha mine smacks against everything, she hits it so hard it bleeds sometimes =/ then we have to clean up splatter on the walls n couch. Sometimes i think she would be better off if it were snipped when she was a pup, but i dont know. Hell, i had part of my dick snipped off when i was a baby, sooooooo yeah.
Agreed that if you're doing this purely for aesthetic reasons it's horrible, but I do know that floppy ears, especially in hotter and more humid countries and regions, can cause more ear infections and often lead to maggots (personal experience). If cropping is done professionally and properly, I can see how it helps. Though I've never done it to my dogs.
And tails..
