But emphasize is correct. You spelled emphasis with an e at the end.

Yes, but emphasize is the American spelling, while emphasise is the correct British spelling. It was meant to be a joke about American spelling.

dude those kids are 11 years old do u expect them to spend their free time reading the dictionary? I'm an honors student that has a "college level" vocabulary according to tests and I don't know how to spell some of these.

I grew up in a time where computers were scarce and can tell you that a dictionary was all you needed. Spelling off the top of your head was overrated even back then.
