I read it was an unsolvable physics question? I mean there have been theories and guesses like using the shrödingers equation and others but... (all things I have recently just read cause this sparked my interest. Don't quote me on this, and yes, I could be terribly wrong with this info)
Quantum indeterminacy is the fact that not all quantities can have exact values. If an electron has a location, then it doesn’t have a speed. If it has a speed, it cannot have a location. No-one knows why this is. This might relate to Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle, which are the inequalities which create a limit to the precision of the information we can know about a particle’s momentum and position. The more we know about one, the less we know about the other. QI says not that we simply don’t know it; that it doesn’t exist.
When an observer (a human, for example) tries to find the position of the electron, said person finds that it does have a position. When a different observer tries to find the state of motion of the electron, the observer will find that it does have a state of motion. This doesn’t seem to make sense; how can something without a position look like it has one? Some say the act of observing is what makes it have a definite state of motion or definite position. Some even say that the reason the particle exists in the first place is because you looked. It was proven that many quantities can have values when nobody is looking. Remember schrödinger's cat? The flaw in that experiment was that it wasn’t exact. Too many outside things affecting it. TL;DR Particles do some weird sh*t when we aren’t looking.
Please keep in mind that I am a thirteen year old kid with no formal education on this subject. This is very flawed, opinionated, and thrown together in about 20 minutes.
It has nothing going to do with a conscious observer. You start to stray into metaphysical Deepak Chopra BS fuel when you invoke consciousness and quantum mechanics in the same breath.
I can delete it if you want. Its just that, I never get to talk about the stuff I like because no one else cares. This is the one time it did matter. I don't see how I was smug. I am not trying to be a "pretentious fuck", I'm answering the damn question to the best of my limited ability. Again, I HAVE HAD NO FORMAL EDUCATION. ALL OF IS IS TAKEN FROM BOOKS, THE INTERNET, AND VISITS TO MY LOCAL PHYSICS LABS. I already said that it very well might be wrong, and was put together in a mere 20 minutes. Didn't you read the disclaimer?
Calm down honey you come at the internet with that little know-all attitude, expect to be hazed lol and pretentious fuck was meant as a term of endearment!!! Im starting to realise why i have no friends
It's a great book.
