No, he did not expose stuff to the American people, he exposed it to everybody. Even if it was only us citizens that would still include people who potentially could and would use that information for bad purposes. I'm not going to argue about the ethics of what he did, however that is an incredibly idiotic post.
A bunch of agents died because part of the info was those agents in the field but it also exposed the war crimes done by the US as well as it's surveillance on the people.
When someone intentionally puts out info that gets people killed it is VERY controversial, but at the same time the rest of the info is VERY controversial as well because it's crimes the US agreed not to do so they're basically saying that they are above the rest of the world.

No, you cannot give information to the American people and ensure only the American people ever get the information. And who's to say that the American people are all trustworthy anyway?
