Understanding someone's mental disfunction does not validate it. A psychiatrist may understand why his patient eats children's toes, but he will probably still jack the sick fucker up on drugs!
You know, a lot of people say it was about hate, but I really think it was about fear. Fear of change, fear of poverty, fear of external influences, fear of internal strife.
You're close. Fear of the Democrats remaking thus country into something it was never meant to be. Also plenty of disgust at the "progress" they gave already made against our will.
I think most of it was due to mob mentality and conformity. Then again I don't know much about America or politics so I can't say for certain but that's usually the equation for these sorts of things.
"progress" against our will= the disaster that is Obamacare. The disaster that is our foreign policy. The disaster that is the real to allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons. The disaster that is Benghazi. The disaster in the making that is open borders and all these unvetted middle Eastern "refugees" now in our country, with more arriving daily. The disaster that is the TPP. The disaster that is our current standing on the world stage. The disaster waiting to happen that is Russia, China, and North Korea gearing up for war with us. The disaster that is our piss poor education system.

OH you can get mad, you can know exactly what's going on inside your head, the reason you are mad, the chemicals and hormones that are activating and you can see why the other person did whatever they did but you still feel mad. Just because you know what's going on doesn't stop an automatic emotional reaction, that's psychology.
