No way, just put sandpaper under the windshield wipers.

no, pour oil over your windows at night. Then the water will bead up and be easy to wipe off.

im sorry for breaking the joke but for those of you who are thinking 'what if I just pour hot water, its not boiling' dont pour anything hot on cold glass, it will immediately shatter

Plus, if you live in a particularly cold area, the water will just freeze on your windshield if it doesn't crack.

Spray vinegar on your windshield at night, or use a towel to cover it.

My former friend's sister did this a few years ago with old t-shirts and then freezing rain came down and the next morning the clothes were water welded to the window.

Yikes. I say towels only because they tend to be thicker

I think you'd be better with an impermeable tarp.

If your engine is stalling, put sugar in the petrol tank to give it a boost.

As someone who pours warm water over their windscreen.... boiling would be stupid... just warmer than 10 degrees will do.

PEOPLE DO THIS ALL OF THE TIME! I had two different room mates do this and one put boiling water to melt the snow on the sidewalk... We like 2 inches of pure ice.

I have an electrically heated windshield. ;-) The car even switches it on automatically ;-)

I like how ppl act like ice scraping is something everyone knows how to do. It hasn't snowed where I live in 7 years and it was only for one day.

I spent most of my life in an area where it never snowed. So it was really a shock for me the first time I had to scrape ice off my windshield. Let me tell you it's annoying enough that you find the laziest method that works and go with it. For me that was presetting my a/c defroster and turning the car on from inside when I first woke up. Remote starting is a laziness lifesaver.
