Although I personally think something like this could be a good law, lots of people live past 65 and more die younger so it would take more than just slapping a line of when you can and can't vote on.
If candidates just didn't suck we wouldn't even need to suggest this...
They have experience backing them, and most are law abiding citizens.
Taking away their right to vote silences valuable input and strips them of a right, which is a very dangerous precedent.
Sounds like communism in the making. First the 65 and older don't vote. Then the 30 and younger can't vote because they don't have enough experience. Then its the people of various other groups for one reason or another. Pretty soon it's, 'the government knows best and will take care of you'.
No, just get rid of the electoral. Or if we must have that, make the elections tournament-style where electoral and popular take turns in halving the amount of candidates or whatever.
To those of you who think this might be a good idea: i'm imagining you @ 65 years old with a lifetime worth of learning and wisdom under your belt. When some kid starts telling you why they know more about the world than you do. Then they go on to thank you and explain that they appreciate how 47 years ago you put the future of a country in the hands of a bunch of kids who havent even had a chance to live yet. And in that moment you realize what you've done.
Hardly zero. Do me a favor and research the purpose of states and the electoral college before you just start drumming up things to be a victim of. And another thing, remember when CNN told you that Trump was a "discrase to the founding principles of this democracy" when he said he "may not accept" the election results and it made you mad at Trump? Yet here you are, on the other side of the fence pouting like a preschooler about the very same results. It reaks of hypocrisy and tears.
As if people over 65 can't get screwed over?
You take away their vote and they are no longer important to many politicians. Politicians have no motivation to help them.
And that's completely unrelated to the fact that these people have the wisdom of age.
That's unconstitutional and would be taking away people's rights and one of the main points of being a citizen, doing this in any way to any age group would cause more problems than it would fix.
This is fucking stupid. I would take voter rights away from tax-dodgers (this is not a poke at The Trump), serving criminals and just about any non-participating/productive member of society first.
People over 65 carry with them the wisdom of a life lived - their personal experiences and the foresight that the young ones do not have. Youths think they know everything but they still have a lot to learn (and won't admit it).
Whoever supports this form of thinking (i.e. ban >65 y/o from voting) should have their voting rights stripped away. They are the ones with the least participation and, tbh, we are nothing without the people who came before us.
Wake up.
Nobody who doesn't pay taxes should be allowed to vote, because they're not paying for anything!

Not. They've experienced things, seem things, know how things work better than some of us do. A lot of people who are older have experience. Yes many of them have poisoned views but so do the youth. So if you're going t take away voting rights for the one group make sure those that are under 25 (the age your brain supposedly fully developes) also have their right to vote taken away.
A lot of people that age still have loved ones to care about

only if people under 25 can't vote as well, because most only THINK they know what is going on. most haven't had a chance to have to live in the world yet.
it's related to the fact that the younger people think they know better... and they will only understand this in retrospect... when they hit 65...
Oh the irony.
An IQ of 110 is literally one point away from being in the range considered "Superior Intelligence" while 110 is in the "Average" range. saying people with an IQ under 110 shouldn't be able to vote is taking away the voting rights of most average US Citizens and saying that only gifted people or people close to being gifted should be able to vote.
If candidates just didn't suck we wouldn't even need to suggest this...

I also belive, knowing this man, that this man should have NO influence over politics.
