I dunno bout you guys, but in Serbia we have "men buttons" and "women buttons". And zippers, and pockets. If I "dare to wear" pants with zipper on the left side (which is actually better for me, being lefthanded) my mother would burn it, literally, calling me sissy girl. Also shirts. It's sexism from the times when women used to have help from maidens and servants (or sisters) to dress, so it's more handy to one who's dressing you. So if buttons are more to the left, you wouldn't fool my mother
