My family lives in the country and they don't lock their doors. Back home we are used to close friends and family just walking in because it happens so often, and locking the doors is a constant back and forth to let visitors in or lock the doors behind them when they leave.

No, I think the door can be unlocked but a vampire still needs a verbal invitation

Well I work from home so it's not always locked during the day and when I notice it's not fear sets in

With European-style door you don't even have to lock it to ensure nobody gets in. Idk why aren't these a thing all over the world.
