No I just read it on the BBC website, his family only confirmed it a little while ago. I saw this come up and double checked it on the BBC website which confirmed it.
Uh, I guess you could say that lol. That was the first site that popped up that explains it.

Parallel universes and stuff. I didn't read all of it (I've got a migraine, taken some co-codamol so it'll go soon hopefully) but that's what it seemed like.
It's basically a claim that more and more people are having false memories but they're not really false it's that we're slipping in and out of alternate realities. It's.....interesting but not totally believable
