He was trying to manipulate her so that she would decide against cutting her hair in order to win his favour, it seems that he thinks he's the center of the universe. he said "i don't like short hair on girls" meaning he doesn't like how girls look with short hair. nothing more. granted it could be worded differently. i told my wife, that i prefer her with long hair. guess what, she still has short hair. i am fine with it. i think she looks better with longer hair, but it isn't comfortable to her because she has super thick hair. just because someone has a preference doesn't mean it is a deal breaker. i think he has valid reason expressing his opinion. i have long hair. i was thinking of cutting it, but my wife prefers it long since she never saw me with short hair. i don't care either way so i keep it long for her. communication is key, with your mentality you'll have a hard time maintaining a stable relationship. you can't keep shutting down conversation and assume the worse out of every comment.
