Nope, he was pointing it out to imply that he won't like her if she cuts her hair. He was trying to manipulate her so that she would decide against cutting her hair in order to win his favour, it seems that he thinks he's the center of the universe. Good for her that she told him to fuck off, nobody needs toxic people like that in their life.

he said "i don't like short hair on girls" meaning he doesn't like how girls look with short hair. nothing more. granted it could be worded differently. i told my wife, that i prefer her with long hair. guess what, she still has short hair. i am fine with it. i think she looks better with longer hair, but it isn't comfortable to her because she has super thick hair. just because someone has a preference doesn't mean it is a deal breaker. i think he has valid reason expressing his opinion. i have long hair. i was thinking of cutting it, but my wife prefers it long since she never saw me with short hair. i don't care either way so i keep it long for her. communication is key, with your mentality you'll have a hard time maintaining a stable relationship. you can't keep shutting down conversation and assume the worse out of every comment.
You're both right! Being married as well I see it from your POV @drazil but I can also see where you're coming from @ewqua. It depends on the relationship I think. If the man is just a controlling person then yeah he deserved that.

yes, if he was a controlling person then yes it would be justified. we can't see that in this post. so i am going on the comments we can see. honestly i know it is a bit of semantics here but if he said "i don't like girls with short hair" i could see it as a controlling thing. suggesting that he would no longer like her if her hair was short, but he said "i don't like short hair on girls" meaning that he doesn't like the style of short hair. as an opinion. subtle differences but different meanings. without more details this is nothing more than an opinion matched with an insult... well, maybe he really had a small dick and she was expressing her opinion too, never know.
Indeed communication is key but I can't be the only one to whom it seems that he was trying to be controlling. Also, what SJW? Who's supposed to be the SJW here?
Lol what? It's like insulting a woman's breast size, and some people have serious complexes about that stuff. Why do you think breast implants are such a huge market and that there are so many ads for penis enlarging bs out there? People can have trama about it, you don't make fun of a person for it. Also in the chance that the conversation was real the girl obviously cared about his opinion due to even telling him her plan. So either they were going out or were just close friends, in either case her comment would probably be taken as a joke, even though it is over the top
