Have YOU ever tried to get a back fire going to black out a safe zone in 15% slopes on a mountainside with no time for hand flares and torches?
Look up fighting wild fire with fire.
False
While burning magnesium does burn at temperatures sufficient to melt iron and its alloys, it's not in the barrel burning for nearly enough time for it to actually do anything. It may get warmer than [usual], like maybe if you were shooting normal shells longer than you would but you'd have to be retarded to shoot enough to damage the barrel.
