I'm not aware of any study that links brain chemistry to the gender you identify as. Also that seems to contradict the notion that gender is a social construct.
https://www.sciencenewsforstudents.org/article/gender-when-body-and-brain-disagree Took me about 5 seconds to google it. Anyway the way I understand it is that sex is determined by chromosomes (and even sex isn't always XX or XY, there are disorders like supermale or superfemale), and gender is determined by the brain. That's why transgenderism is also called gender dysphoria, because your brain thinks/knows that you're a different gender than your body. I personally think that the SJW thought process of "let's make a thousand genders and pronouns" is stupid. It's pretty inconsistent to say that gender is a social construct but it's also determined by your brain. I'm of the opinion that unless a person is transgender (aka diagnosed with gender dysphoria), I will just use whichever pronouns they look like.
(to be continued…)
Now what the SJWs probably mean by the social construct logic is that gender ROLES are a social construct, like the "woman in the kitchen, man at work" stereotype. I can totally get behind that, what you have between your legs shouldn't dictate what you can or cannot do (except for obvious biological things like giving birth). Now do I think that men and women have different natural predispositions, making them naturally good at some things and bad at others? Yeah, sure. But just because you have that predisposition, doesn't automatically mean you will be good or bad at certain things. You might be talented enough to surpass it. Restricting a person from doing something because they have this or that between their legs OR discouraging them because "you'll never be as good as the other gender" (for example the "girls are bad at maths" mantra that is oftentimes repeated at schools, even though recent studies prove that it's not true) is stupid and counterproductive.
Rant over.
That's an article, not a study, and it actually talks about gender from the perspective of culture and doesn't mention the brain.
Also, I do agree with the stupidity of the thousand-genders thing.
Female definition:of or denoting the sex that can bear offspring or produce eggs, distinguished biologically by the production of gametes (ova) that can be fertilized by male gametes.
Call urself whatever you want but unless you can bear offspring or produce eggs u are not a girl.
@garlog it's pretty hard to get your hands on proper scientific studies as they're often published in paid scientific magazines, so that's the closest I found. Also I think gender dysphoria might be on Wikipedia, if you look in the sources there might be a proper study linked. Glad we agree though.
To the other guest, you do know that baby girls are born with all the eggs they'll ever produce. It is paused until puberty, so prepubescent females are girls. Women who lost their wombs or ovaries are still women because they had wombs and ovaries.
You can think/wish/assume any gender you like but as long as you're chromosomally male or female, it won't make a difference. Just learn to love who you are rather than hoping labels can make you what you're not.
If you have a vagina due to sex change, you're now a girl too. Welcome to the bitch brigade

O-okay
Mess with them a little bit more and I start sharpening my knives
Always blugeon your enemies to death. So much easier, as well as harder to identify.

your argument "I know better than the medical professionals treating trans people"
Man, those poor men who had hysterectomies and/or ovarian cancer...
