Actually, the treaty says that no one can ruin the land. No mineral drilling, only peaceful scientific research.

When the resources start to run low, countries are going to start scowering Antarctica for oil and coal deposits. It's not a fun thought, but it will happen within the next 10 to 20 years.
Your thinking of Greenland, they switched the names of the countries to throw off the Vikings they were at war with in thinking Greenland was "green" and Iceland was "ice". But it's the opposite :)
Iceland has warm water baths that are really cozy, and small horses with thick fur. It should get cold, but the island is basically a home to several small volcanoes so it's not :D
