That's one way to get the ball rolling. Hopefully this won't lead to thousands of child illnesses and then mass child death.

Gee, if only there was something as simple as getting a needle that would do that...

I hate how America is scared to put good plans like this into action because someone will whine and cry about it

24,000,000 Australians and 140,000 parents on assistance didn't vaccinate their kids! What percentage of parents are not vaccinating? What percentage of the population is on assistance?

Almost all families with children get a family tax benefit payment to help with cost of raising children - cutoff to not get it is between $100k/year and $250k/year (depending on number and age of kid), so most families get something (unless kids not immunised!)

Australia's kinda like America, just a bit more left. They had guns, they're gone now. Hopefully America's gonna be following their footsteps soon.

Kids whose parents are on welfare already aren't doing that well off, this punishes the kid twice, once for not getting the vaccine and once for losing welfare benefits. Hopefully this will motivate the parents to action, but could just just make the kids lives worse.

Not really, most families in Australia get the family tax benefit - you can earn $100k/year and still get

Not vaccinating is more than stupid (*except for those rare cases where the kid's immune system is too compromised to handle the vaccine yet/at that point (age/illness - also people who are post chemo and not able to redo their vaccines yet), or if they are allergic to an element of the vaccine and there is no egg/whatever free option), it is dangerous. This is not said to be any sort of "-ist" but the state health services in the US are seeing resurgences and high rates of easily prevented, dangerous illnesses that HAVE VACCINES in the large immigrant areas. If someone gets sick with a (vaccinat...able?) preventable virus it can mutate in their bodies and then spread to those without. The more people unvaccinated the more chances that mutation can happen.
