how. how do you make sure the shadow doesn't cause powdery flakes on the mascara? or when you're blending your lashes don't get stuck together?

I am very very careful. Also I DON'T put a BUTT LOAD of mascara on to begin with. I naturally have long eyelashes and I wear glasses so I only put a light coat on.
