Agreed. It's not about the "savings," it's a hobby that gets you outside and provides you with a sense of accomplishment when your garden yields yummy things in the end.
Not to mention that a few tomato plants result in ridiculous numbers of tomatos. I give them to my neighbors every year. I'm pretty sure they hate me now.
I grew up eating, literally *buckets* of tomatoes. We had to come up with recipes/reasons to eat them. Nothing tastes better than a garden-grown tomato, in my opinion.
It would probably incentivise me to get my garden going so I could give you veggies too.
