Supposedly the mother was only 26 weeks (28-35 weeks require doctor permission and a woman beyond 35 weeks is not allowed to fly regardless for this exact reason.) There is no way in hell that baby is 3 months premature. The mother intentionally lied and put them both at risk by doing so.
That being said those flight attendants deserve all the praise awarded to them. By all accounts they remained calm and handled everything superbly.
At the same time, the mother may have been from another country that doesn't have the same medical restrictions we do. She might not have purposely put the baby in danger, but only did so because her country doesn't have rules against it.
