How do you manage to misspell a word so badly

So basically rednecks are like blondes, and now people think all rednecks are idiots.

From my town, most of them are

Rednecks are dumb. Period. Full stop. I once had to explain to a redneck woman that the word was "varicose", not "very close". She thought they were called very close veins because they looked very close to the surface of her skin. I could literally fill a book with the stupid things I've heard rednecks say or that they believe.

Though we do come up with some pretty damn good ideas when we're drunk
