Woah, that's epic! If my search was correct, his name was Adrian Paul Ghislain Carton de Wiart and he was a Lieutenant General in the British army.

the 2 wars were over 20 yrs apart he would have had to be at least 18 (maybe even older) at the time of ww1 which would make him (around) 40 during ww2 and the draft only went up to 41.
