Something absolutely should be done. That being said, the likelihood of intervention resulting in a nuclear WW3 is the main reason we haven't figured out what to do yet. Perhaps if we could get all of the nuclear armed nations together against North Korea we could safely do something. But that something would have to be internationally coordinated, sudden, rapid, precise, and without restraint. A tall order to say the least.

It's the nuclear weapons that are the problem like you say and even basically cornering North Korea with the rest of the worlds bombs wouldn't do anything. Caged animals lash out, I'm assuming based of human psychology that the same would apply here. It's absolutely horrific to think that people are being forced to live that way.

The only way we could do something without retaliation is if we completely wiped North Korea off the map, and no one is eager to do that

Not to mention all the innocent people who would suffer if we did that :/

Coordinated assasinations of key personnel might work.

But now you have to deal with a massive refugee situation, most of whom probably don't even want help. So now it's an even bigger human rights crisis than before.

There is a charity called LiNK (Liberty in North Korea) that helps refugees escape. It's not as dramatic as going to war, but every little bit helps.

Can sòmene explain to me the strategic sense to not tell Kim jong un to fuck off? It's a simple solution, considering how weak the country is

China stand with them. And for China, that's best follower, Their literally only options are China or death.

Just FYI, this guy recently revealed that some of his story was fake or exaggerated. It doesn't change the fact that people are suffering horribly in that country though.

He should also be blaming China... since they are basically the only reason this problem wasn't solved 50 years ago.
