It's generally a bit more orange, yes. I think they just tried to find something similar enough to prove their point

Dark, dull yellow is not the color of ginger, it's the color of the ginger root. Ginger is actually the name of the entire plant and its easily identified by its vibrant red flowers, not its buried drab roots. Strawberry blond is blond that looks like it got stained with strawberry juice, hence the name.
