Are you kidding? Ghostbusters 2016 was a campy, mediocre script carried by a team of excellent comedians that delivered far past anything the writing should have been able to manage.
This is EXACTLY THE SAME THING the original Ghostbusters was. The only thing I could *possibly* want more would be a sequel including Rick Moranis now that he's coming out of retirement.
Are you kidding ? Who the comedians are doesn't matter if the movie was shit. They were paid to be actors in a sub par movie where 90% of the advertising was saying you were sexist if you didn't watch or like it. It wasn't the same thing as the original and even if it was, who wants to pay to see a remake of a classic movie just because " womyns "
Yasss. Bring on the sequel. I agree. I felt that it captured the overall spirit (pun unintended) of the first film and added some modern tastes like more vulgar humor than could be gotten away with or was popular in movies of the time. The writing has rough and uneven patches for sure, parts felt rushed, gags were missed. I will say as a happy side effect that there were gags and punchlines I didn't see coming because I expected a more "perfect" joke. I loved the movie and get some criticism but not the outright hatred many seem to give it.
Dude, if good comedians couldn't carry a shitty script, then the original would have been a giant pile of shit. Fortunately, a good comedian can carry a campy script, because if comedians were swimmers, absurdity would be *water.* And Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon would be in the Olympics.
Critics derided GB2 as a stale cash grab. Audiences didn't hate it, but GB 2016 is at 73% on RT vs GB2 at 51. Neither film had the best writing, but GB2 couldn't pull things off with the original cast. Neither film had the advantage of being as fresh and original as ghost busters was for mainstream movie goers. GB 2016 addressed complaints of 2 and took things in new directions, it dared to try. None of that matters if you don't like a movie you don't like it, no matter who else does or how much "love" went into a thing. I'm not saying it's "Interstellar" or better than the first- but I do think it's no more an "insult to the franchise" as anything else to follow the GB name, and reducing people's enjoyment of it to "because womyn" is insulting to all involved and shows the implied gender bias reflected back on the speaker. Because I don't like Close Encounters doesn't mean if you do it must be because you're a Spielberg fan. The film has merit to many which I simply don't see.
Wonder Woman wasn't preceded by a massive and protracted campaign of trash talking that started almost the second that they announced the lead was to be played by a woman. Also- I haven't seen any complaints on YouTube or otherwise that wonderwoman is being played by "a girl" and if they are out there it isn't as prevalent as with GB. No one went and repeatedly downvoted the Wonder Woman trailer with slurs about how fat or ugly Gadot is. I liked the ghost busters remake personally, I know some people genuinely didn't and honestly I thought I wouldn't by virtue of it being a remake of a franchise I loved when I was younger. I couldn't picture it being anything but hokey and I hated the new ecto mobile. I only recently watched it. I was impressed.

I gave it a chance i tried to like it but around 30-40 mins in i gave up
Wonderwoman was a 2hour + pile of cgi crap with an awful storyline full of holes and poor acting and direction.
Opening scenes...... You will not train my daughter..... 5 seconds later..... you must train my daughter harder than anyone has ever been trained..... 5 seconds later... . Oh no what have I done.
Later on..... we must get this book to parliament without delay...... but let's go shopping first.
Regardless of whether the main character is male/female..... the story was shit, the action was shit. The movie was shit. DC fails again.
It was... not my favorite movie. It was better, in my opinion, than the rest of the stuff DC has been putting out recently, but that is not a high bar to clear.
Plus, SUPER disappointed, with the message that "humanity is more" that they were trying to give, that they still had the pivotal point of Diana's big decision be about the romance, not the sacrifice.
Also, maybe I'm just a sucker for half an extra dimension, but literally every other member of the group was more interesting than Steve.
I thoroughly enjoyed WW. I watched one trailer and avoided everything else about the movie so I didn't have any expectations. I thought the Lasso of Truth was funny. Do you really want people to know what you're really thinking in front of a beautiful person? lol
Wonder Woman was very good a solid 8/10 Ghostbusters is not very good like 4/10 the original Ghostbusters isn't much better but it gets saved by the amazing Bill Murray. Dan Ackroyd is terrible though.
I didn't realize how great of a movie Wonder Woman really is, until now. Yeah, it's GREAT, but now, in addition to that, people can finally admit Ghostbusters sucked.
Has this fool never seen Mulan!?
