Is that supposed to be insulting? You realize "queer" isn't an insult even if you meant it as "strange" and not as "non exclusively heterosexual," and wether I'm a woman, or a man, eating a dick is something many people do and enjoy, in fact most of us that are here came from a person who's likely eaten dick on a few occasions? If you consider that an insult, you are insulting your own parent(s). You may be ok with that (I don't know your life) but only the small minded, ignorant, or insecure would find that insulting. I believe you are lashing out for lack of words to articulate yourself and frustration. @lblazel, I hope you can mature as a person and understand some day that you won't agree with everyone, and if you take issue with someone's ideas there are ways to express that intelligently and without being a bigot.
No worries. I was unsure of the meaning. In a text media I missed the irony. A good joke indeed. Thank you for clarifying. I generally put effort into most things I do, or don't expend any effort at all when not worth it. It seems to work out better for me. I apologize if I offended. It's early and I have to return to work (then fly out to Florida for vacation) so I may have been a little cranky. Have a good day, I'm glad to get an early morning laugh now that I understand the context. Well played.
But if you loved your country you wouldn't leave for Canada, even if you don't approve of the government. If you love your country you stick by it, even if you candidate doesn't win.
The president is elected by the will of the people. Your fellow country men and women. He represents their desire. If the majority speaks that they feel the country should go a way you oppose, your choices are to fight the will of the majority (which is against democracy), be complicit in a set of values you cannot support, or leave. July 4th marks when men decided they did not support their government and started armed war to oppose it. So I guess you are right. A "true patriot" would start an armed military conflict to overthrow the established government if they didn't like the way things are. Me personally, I don't personally approve of the while "move to Canada" thing, its mostly overdramatics. But simply put, the world is full of refugees and expatriots who left their country for moral or political reasons. So... sorry, my statement is proven fact, yours is an already discredited opinion.
The president wasn't elected by the will of the people though. The electoral college handles all votes. The "majority" was in Clinton's favor..
4th of July is literally just the date when the war was over. @-@ are you trolling??
Calm down, guest_, you get to vote every 4 years, Trump isn't the eternal emperor.
Half the point of democracy is so things can go ways you don't want and you don't have to wage war or flee.
@garlog Nothing here is my current events political beliefs. We started with a simple fact, just like two people who love each other can break up, so can you love your country and leave it. When you feel you aren't being heard or your needs aren't met, it's up to you if you want to work with/fight for those needs, do nothing and see how it goes, or walk away and look for happiness elsewhere. It's not for me to judge someone for following the path of their happiness, nor is it for me to tell someone how much they love a thing. The rebuttal was in support of what should be simple facts. I have not endorsed or slandered the current administration nor said anything about an eternal emperor. You can support freedom without invoking a figurehead and you can stand up for others even when you disagree. That's my America. A land where I don't have to like what you do, but I'll defend you in doing it so long as it isn't indefensible. A world of hypocrites calling each other hypocrites. funny.
@violence- I REALLY hope that was humor, or that you are trolling. Because no... that's not even close. In fact historically July 4th isn't even the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Also, the electoral college is chosen to represent the will of the people. Wether they do or not is up to debate, but we do not have a direct democracy and are in fact a republic. The original point still stands. You can love your country and leave it. You'll find many Cubans, Filipinos, and others living in America who still love their countries very much but left because they thought America was a country they could better achieve their goals in or have a better life, or any life at all in some cases. So the fact a person would leave their country but love it is a well documented fact. The president will be loved by many and hated by many no matter what. Like Ernesto Guevera, One mans freedom fighter is another's terrorist. Even the USSR still has supporters in Russia. It's all relative.
You don't seem to grasp what I told you...I didn't say it was the signing of the DoI I said it was the date the war ended. Two different days obvi. We are a democratic-republic because we even have the option to vote (dems) but the votes are chosen to a system where the individual is not in control (reps). The rest is what I never commented on so it has no meaning to me.
I understood you fine. You don't seem to grasp what I just told you. The revolutionary war "ended" at an unspecified date in 1783. July 4th 1776 is the date the "Fourth of July" celebrates, the observance day for the declaration of Independence. 7 years before the war "ended."
History is full of interesting facts and lessons, you seem to have an interest but are just hazy on some facts. I hope you can further explore and learn about history and continue to build on your existing intellect. Happy reading.
>gotta eat crow
Ah shiiiiiit
Well whatever, I'm not too shallow to not know when I'm incorrect, no matter how much I disagree with you
Everything else is moot
Aww hell. I don't believe in half the stuff I say. Some of it is other people's views I've been exposed to, some of it is where fact contradicts opinion. There's no "right way" for everyone, just people trying to find their way. So long as people are open to other views, and don't confuse fact with opinion it's not a thing to me. You have passion, you admit where you're wrong but stick to your morals where opinions are subjective. I can't fault you. Just check your facts and never hesitate to consider a thought. Thinking different isn't always an attack on what you believe, sometimes folks just don't see eye to eye is all. There's room enough for everyone if we can all be civil. Have a great day and respect to you.
