You should be. This man assaulted another. He should be arrested and punished. It doesn't matter what the first man did - you should have called the authorities.
If you find someone raping another then you should do what you can to stop it, but if you are not personally witnessing it then you should call the proper authorities. It's the damn law. I considered both men equally shitty.

You don't believe past actions have consequences? You seem to not understand the amount of rationalism inside of a person who is extremely emotional. Someone hurt the person he cares about practically more than anyone else, and you really think he's gonna act rational. This is like the father who shot the man who molested his 9 year old son. And btw, at least he can't rape anyone anymore
There is nothing irrational about my reasoning.
A man raped (a crime many consider equal to or worse than murder) a woman, so her husband (traditionally the protector of the family unit) set out to avenge his wife by subjecting her attacker to pain equal to or worse than rape and simultaneously prevent the attacker from hurting anyone else in the same manner.
More than reasonable, and arguably merciful.
A father whos child was molested went to the airport in disguise when the molester was caught and extradited back for trial.
He waited at the doors outside luggage claim and suddenly stepped out and shot him in the head at point blank range, execution style. He pulled this off surrounded by cops and news crews.
He also more or less got away with it too.
Any decent judge will sentence both men to quite a hefty prison time. One raped a person and the other assaulted and sexually assaulted(raped in some states) another in a situation other than defense. Both are quite serious crimes.
I'd think that the people saying that the husband was wrong and he should have let the authorities handle it would sing a different tune if someone close to them where raped. Its easy to point fingers when it doesn't affect you
In the 1980s, they rejuvenated The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits TV shows. In one of those, this woman is driving with her husband when she freezes up and points out a man on the street and tells her husband "that's the man who raped me." The husband chases after him and catches him, and they fight and he ends up killing the guy. Then he finds his way back to his wife without her knowing what happened. Then they're driving and a little while later she points out a different man who didn't really look anything like the first, and the wife says again "that's him, that's the man who raped me."
If you find someone raping another then you should do what you can to stop it, but if you are not personally witnessing it then you should call the proper authorities. It's the damn law. I considered both men equally shitty.
Congrats! Now you can go to prison with him. Humans are fucking stupid.

I'd say the molester got off easy.
I would have made him eat it raw
