That just means it's been on the market awhile and hasn't sold. It's still pretty incredible the difference. That New York place would probably sell for between 100-200 grand around where I live. (Depends on whether it's in the city or the suburbs.)

Considering that the Fort Worth house has around 3,000 more square feet than the New York house, it would make sense for the former to be at least $15,000 more.

Trust me, if that Texas place was in New York, it would probably be somewhere in the vicinity of a million. In real estate terms, 15 thousand is a drop in the bucket.

The Texas real estate market is weak. Hence the price cut. A goood friend recently sold rental property near a major city because of lack of profitability.

Doesn't show the amount of ground either, the ny one is probably less than an acre the Texas one is probably about an acre maybe two.

That house is in Jamaica (Queens) a developing neighborhood. While 2 were recently shot dead in a house party there, and a barber was found shot dead not long ago, crime isn't rampant there. It's not the worst area in queens and certainly not the worst in New York. It compares to many other urban areas except it is technically suburban which is likely where it's reputation comes from. Celebrities such as Niki Minaj, 50 cent (and some G unit Aumni) and Donald Trump all hail from the area. For perspective a nice 3 bedroom in North Carolina can be had for $125k, and in some areas of Detroit as low as $50k. Where I live if a house like the Queens one was in sale for that price someone would buy it in cash quickly and double their money at least. The Texas house would be millions without even knowing the lot sizes. People all have priorities though, and cost is relative to what you feel you get from the area and how it fits your lifestyle.
