Exactly. Unles you are part of a tribe that can't use/ have access other fabrics or materials and needs it for survival, stop buying animals' skin just because it's expensive
Usually, fur that is sold for purposes like that is taken from animals, and then the rest of the animal's body isn't used. That's most of my problem with it. As long as we responsibly use all that we take, I'm cool with it.
Well that's why i mentoined the tribe. I know of some (not sure where can't remember) that use the WHOLE animal. Now, in our society we have options for fabrics and I chose not to eat meat, but I really respect those people. They have a higher respect for nature. They kill an animal really out of necessity, and they don't waste anything. They eat the meat and blood, use the bones, and fur.

I don't think any animal should be killed for it's fur but I see no harm in repurposing an animal for it's fur if it's passed on naturally.
One or two good points lost amid a see of insanity, hypocrisy, and idiocy. Well done, peta.

You know, they've got good motives about saving animals and all, but their actions are just flat out stupid
If anyone should be sued for animal cruelty, it's PETA
Ikr?! They're just big babies that people like to believe are dangerous beasts

We have a similar problem in the UK with Staffordshire Bull Terriers. They're so sweet and lovely but people buy them for all the wrong reasons (around on estates such as a statement or for fighting etc) and they end up either being made violent by their terrible owner or abandoned. This lovely breed makes up 75% of pets left at places like the RSPCA and similar.
I agree with the entire post EXCEPT the founder's personal choice to be sterilized at 22. That bears no relevance to the argument, and any woman should have the choice to decide whether they want to bear children or not. It is their body to control, and has nothing to do with their profession, ethics, or ability/inability to do their job. There appear to be plenty of reasons to disagree with or dislike Ingrid Newkirk, but that fact shouldn't have been included in order to make a case.

I agree. I dislike her but it's her choice to be sterilized. I'd make the same choice if I could but the doctors aren't willing, some b.s. about "changing my mind as I get older".
I mean anyways if you are secually active, just use protection. No nees for stiralization yet. My personal believe if you are over 30 you would probably be sure if you have changed your mind or not. I was the opposite. I always wanted kids by 25. Im 30 and stil procrastinating it.

I'm 26, going to be 27 in December. My husband doesn't want kids either. We've been together for 10 years, we tried for kids years ago, it wasn't meant to be but it made us both realised the only reason we even "wanted" kids was because it seemed expected of us and the pressure of carrying on a family name.
I've been on the pill for the last ten years on and off. We don't use condoms as neither of us like them.
I don't want periods, I don't want kids EVER. And saying "you'll change your mind when you get older" is not only insulting to my intelligence but rude.
No one should act like they know me better than me.
Oh totally agree. I feel pressured too. I feel like someday I will but not yet. To annoying parents that ask me when am I going to have them I tell them i'm not. I'm gonna travel the world. Just so they shut up. If you guys decided on that, you go girl!

I'd love to travel if it were financially viable for us (and I had a passport lol)
Did you ever notice the protesters from PETA and similar groups feel free to throw red paint onto old ladies wearing fur, but they never seem to hassle some biker gang about their leather?
Also, how does it help animals if the old ladies' fur is ruined, and they replace it with new fur?
