There's also solar power, wind power, and Hydro powered plants. I know they aren't as "eco" as they say they are but they are much better than coal or oil

Wind solar and hydro account for 3.8% of our power. Nearly 82% is generated by burning fossil fuels.

We're not all American, for example Norway's energy is 99% hydropower. 12,4% of Germany's power is renewable and they are working to make that more.

I would assume that it's easier and cheaper to control the pollution from a central power plant than the thousands of cars spewing exhaust gasses all over the countryside.

Both the power plant and the electric car are more energy efficient than a car with an internal combustion engine, though.

Well, not really. If your car gets more than 30 mpg you're better than coal powered EVs, and that doesn't factor in the damage caused manufacturing the batteries. https://greentransportation.info/energy-transportation/evs-need-clean-electricity.html
