If you don't want to support Bratz dolls then don't buy them. Re paint them all you want but you're still supporting the company by buying them in the first place
I think they look pretty cute repainted kinda natural like American Girl dolls, but they could definitely use some natural eyelashes too. They look a bit strange with none, almost like they've been plucked out.
Sorry but my mind immediately made a ton of questions. To be honest, I think that saying dolls wearing makeup makes them a sexualized object is a little strange. Many young girls try to do their makeup in the same kind of style. Are twelve year olds sexualizing themselves by attempting a cut-crease? Now she's just painting children's faces on dolls with breasts. I always thought of the unrealistic look as the style of the brats doll. Are all children's toys supposed to be proportionate and realistic? Also noticed that the thin brows of the brats doll were changed. Is grooming eyebrows considered sexualization?
So, she is redoing them to make them much less appealing to little girls that enjoy glamour dolls and probably have no thoughts in their heads of ever emulating a stupid doll? Way to assume that playing with an unrealistic portrayal of a human will damage a child. Barbie never made me wish for double d's or size 2 feet. Betty Spaghetti never made my daughters think their legs could stretch to three times their actual length. GI Joe never made a kid want to pick up a real gun. Sky Dancers never made a little girl think she could grow wings and fly in a rotation pattern. Betsy Wetsy did not convince kids that a baby pees pure water. Give your kids some credit and let them enjoy fantasy while they can.
Even when I was a child I find Bratz scary. Their eyes and lips and head are too big and they have this sultry expression. Kinda like hobbit Mean girl version of barbie. T. T
Please, this woman is dedicating her time and talent to make toys more children-friendly. If you enjoy the bratz's extended features, I think you should get them.
Just because they are made to look like adults doesn't mean they aren't child friendly. It's just eye shade and lipstick etc. Doesn't turn it into some sort of monster. Perhaps children should walk around with their eyes closed in case they see a real adult with make-up on.
It's not blinding children to viewing real people in real life, but dolls are designed to provide a toy that they can care for and also pretend represents themselves. This is just giving a beautiful more "like them" option that fits in their doll houses and doll accessories where something like the American Girl is much larger and (not knowing the prices of these, I would assume:) much more expensive.
These dolls are still over sexualised no burka no gloves what a bunch of sluts. We need to raise our standards no make up no hair spray back in the kitchen with you.
Oh god its the tree change lady. This is so stupid. There's plenty of other dolls that fit the view she's looking for. Bratz were supposed to be about not caring what anyone else thinks and you doing you. By doing this this lady is saying that anyone who doesn't have a natural look is overly sexualized simply for putting makeup on. There's nothing sexual about a fashion doll for kids.
I also remember looking it up awhile back and the dolls being very overpriced, which no one wants to buy for their kids who will just mess it up because thats what kids do.
So fuck this lady.
