It's also wrong to have bad opinions. Like black people are dirty sinners. Or that the earth is flat. That's also a wrong opinion and deserving of a solid ass whooping.
The punishment should fit the crime. Being wrong is not a crime, assault is.
.
If you are silencing "dangerous elements" before they hurt anyone, then you are just silencing dissenting opinions that happen to be unpopular. It was once unpopular to suggest that blacks are people, or that the world isn't flat. Even knowing that, do you really want to set that precedent?
By attacking them you are giving them a voice and validation. A racist yells about black people being violent...he gets attacked...he says "see? Told you so"
People do things to get a reaction, give them none and they will shut up.
What is more likely to change someone's mind if they're on the fence: this, or getting a crowd together to "protest" the people you disagree with and busting heads (of those who you outnumber and can bully without as much personal risk)?

This is how you change someone's perspective, through kindness.
No need to down vote this, I think it is a reasonable question. However, her posture and more importantly her facial expression suggests that she is trying to protect him and didn't simply fall.
I think if she fell, her face would show more fear and surprise. This looks more like anger and anguish.
This goes above a and beyond an officer of a different ethnicity protecting protesters. Don't get me wrong, it is admirable, but it is their job.
This woman here exemplifies humanity, she not only recognises that violence does not help the cause, she is actively intervening to stop it.

It's pretty short, maybe a 3-4 minute read.
