Because sports are not scripted. When a screenwriter puts the perfect phrase into a beautiful persons mouth while a lighting tech casts their professionally done hair and makeup and ambient music sets the mood; it's SUPPOSED to fuck with your heartstrings, you're getting played. When the rules of a sporting event are understood by everyone, the outcome is not predetermined, the world gets to unite and witness a human body achieving an amazing feat, in real time and we as spectators get to live and die with their accomplishments.
If the game is being played in your city sometimes it happens, especially if it's the Super Bowl. Not all places will let you go home, but people with office jobs? Yeah, usually.
Guests don't get signatures. Unless you forgot to sign in or were too lazy in which case sorry. But if you want a signature then actually take the 2 minutes to sign up.
Sport is completely incomparable to bloody TV shows. As ghengistron said, it's the human body, achieving the incredible. The body performing at its most elite. 22 people. One field. One ball. And thousands of viewers, live and through their television. I don't know what kind of reality you're living in we're people are let off work early, cos most of our sporting fixtures here in aus are at 7pm or later. Those people "kicking a ball around" have trained for years, have made so many sacrifices and their body control is indescribable. That team represents the local spirit and pride. On the other hand, TV shows are a dramatic performance that A. isn't live. B: is not nearly as popular C. is not as momentous as sport. But hey. Weaboos gotta have something to complain about.
Agree with you on some stuff, like them being incomparable in many aspects, ( completely different motives) but actors have also trained for years, and have made sacrifices, both jobs take hard work. Also, a weeaboo is a person who is really obsessed about Japan and wants to be Japanese, dunno what that's got to do with general television shows (P.S live tv shows are also a thing).
Hey @third i've been meaning to ask you, what sports do you like? You said you don't like most popular sports so maybe you know some that are good and I haven't heard about.
The occasional bit of soccer, tennis, or lacrosse. But I prefer ones like fencing, sepak takraw, the odd bit of martial arts, and chess and pool if you want to count them.
What's the ratio of tv show memes to,sports memes? Like 50:1?
Also, I've never seen football fan fiction, but once accidentally stumbled onto Supernatural fan fiction. Yeah, the guys are cute, I guess, but why does someone find it hot to imagine gay incest?
go look up sports memes. There are entire sites dedicated to them, and then subdivisions based off teams.
You didn't look, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
