They already had the location from the chip, which means they probably already know who did it. And the thief just played himself by admitting to selling it. Now not only has he confessed to grand theft (if the bike was valued at $1000) but also marketing in stolen goods. Yay, 2 felonys for the price of one.

Should have installed a secondary redundancy chip. :/
