Just full offense. I couldn't use my Shield during the fight so I would two hand my weapon (that quelaag sword), I would dodge through the attacks to my best extent (I used the ornstein armor), and I had on that Wolf ring and the gold ring that gives you buffs in everything.
I think my problem was that I was under leveled, but I went to them first because I heard horror stories of the bed of chaos (who still doesn't sound too horrible to me) and FUCK THE GIANTS TOMB AND THOSE STUPID 4 LEGGED SKELETONS
ive only played the second one, and i haven't gotten very far. But ive killed pretty much everything from the starting zone to the dragonrider so many times that a lot of them have stopped respawning.
Honestly I just spent the whole game rolling away from enemies. I'm definitely not cut out for Dark Souls!

The bed of chaos is hard no matter when you go to it, Seath is eh just don't get cursed, die before you get cursed, Nito you're probably over leveled for him just remember to brings a divine weapon for the adds, also your build will destroy him, beware of toxic, four kings I'd do last just due to the fact that you have to kill them as quickly as possible and that they're weak to spells. Also for the tomb of giants make sure you have a lantern or the light spell and a divine weapon, no necromancers but still, beware patches, black knight, and skeleton babies. Bring a bow, you'll need it for the pinwheels, and for the love of god look for the bonfires, if you're online others are usually kind enough to point the out.

Also illusion you should play bloodbourne, it's better for the rolling playstyle
I got past patches, around when those 4 legged skeletons started to appear. Literally I got to a bonfire, and one killed me before I could rest at it. That, alongside not fighting against anything in there well, caused me to start a new file bc my first build was shit

Tomb of giants is a POS but right after that one bonfire was Nito. Getting to Nito in my opinion is harder than Nito
I might try bloodbourne out once I've got through some of my other games. I'm determined to finish dark souls, though it's not my kind of game.
I'm absolutely sick at Dishonored though, not to toot my own horn lol
