That's so stupid. The gun and area would only show signs of a single bullet being shot meaning that any half-ass investigation would prove this man innocent.

And the idiot thinks that begging will work instead of say, demonstrating with something small like a paper clip? And the author thinks you'll get executed for clear self defense against a mugging even if, as others have pointed out, the investigation did not unearth the clear and obvious inconsistencies?
