Japanese firm gives non-smokers extra six days holiday to compensate for cigarette breaks

I guess that's one way to motivate people to not smoke

I guess that makes sense, if you don't hve smoke breaks it must add up.

There are roughly 260 days of work a year not including holidays. One ten minute smoke break every 2 hours for an 8 hour work day would be 10400 minutes in a year or roughly 7.22 days.

As a smoker who constantly invites non-smoking co-workers out for "gum" or "sparkler" breaks, and fumes when I hear of a company not giving out *as available* breaks OR 2 fifteen minute with 1 thirty minute breaks....
I 100%support this. 6 days is a little much, but whatever, I still support it.

In our company we only get two days if we don't smoke at work

I would quit if I got an extra week off.
