I'm failing my british literature class because I don't like working in groups. Actually, the teacher is going against my IEP and could likely get into some serious trouble for attempting to force me to work in groups when I've clearly notified him that I would prefer to work alone (My IEP states that if I do not wish to work on a group project that I may request a solo alternative).
Then get the teacher in trouble. If he's not gonna do what he's supposed to do, then he needs consequences, especially if its effecting your grade to the point you're failing.
(Sorry, I didn’t mean that question to be creepy or anything)
Would you be able to talk to your principal about it? Or anyone who could exert influence over your teacher?
I have, but the teacher is using the excuse of trying to make me more social as an excuse which seems to make them back off from him. He's a good teacher and he's actually my favorite teacher, but he thinks that putting me into group work will somehow make me more social. It works even less because I got along with one dude in the class slightly better than the others meaning that I talked to him twice during the project. He apparently thinks that means I like that group... I despise it as do the people in the group do to me. The nearly illiterate fucks depend on me getting tired of hearing them spout bullshit when trying to understand MacBeth that I have to tell them the bloody answer. I can't even have fun with MacBeth as reading it is like reading normal english to me 80% of the time.
Sorry, man. It looks like you’ll have to power through it and do your best to work with the plebs. Whether it’s nobler in the mind to endure the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune or to take arms against a sea of troubles and by opposing end them, you’ve done your best.
Back in middle school I was getting C's and B's and the odd D. Through it all, my parents just encouraged me to do my best and try. As long as I tried they were happy. Fast forward to University I'm puling a 3.94 GPA and they still encourage me to try my best. If they had been harsh on me, I would never have achieved what I did. They were there for me when I almost failed an honours university exam and helped me stay positive and were still proud that I did my best and passed. Through everything, they've always encouraged me.
