Ehhhh, don't blame it all on the Abrahamics. There's currently a genocide going on by Buddhists against Muslims, and (while the government in question disputes it) by atheists against practictioners of a type of meditation. The problem is pretty much "people in power," as far as I can figure it.

And since a lot of Christian arguments against things like abortion are old-Testament-based (see: that whole thing about the penalty for the wrongful loss of a pregnancy being regulated like the death of a person, not loss of property), it's really not viable to restrict arguments about Christian beliefs to the new Testament.
The argument against snorting is not Old Testament based among people I know. If seafood is bad what of the loaves and fishes? Several apostles were fishermen. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy are more held in literal regard by Judaism. The teachings of Jesus were meant to expound upon or replace a lot of Old Testament teachings.
Seafood as in shrimp. If you're interpreting the Old Testament strictly, you can't wear cotton-linen blends or eat any sea dweller that hasn't got scales (i.e., lobster, shrimp, crab, shark, flounder, etc.)
