But that's how the English language works, its a mix of half a dozen different languages, including Greek and Latin.

But medical stuff is usually in Latin because the words meaning won't change so it's easier to name without having to worry later on, like animal names for example

Whatever kind of term, generally the two languages aren’t combined within a single word, no matter what context that word is used for.

Also it's not only in the English language, but in many others too. Homosexualität in german. So you can't just blame the english language for that.

Mixing Greek and Latin is unacceptable? Do you know how many English words are rooted from both Greek and Latin?
