My brother was 18 and I took him to a chicken restaurant. We go to order I get chicken strip basket. He says he wants a 2 piece basket. The lady asked him do you want dark meat or white meat. He says a breast and a leg. I say no that is both dark and white you have to pick 2 of the same meat. He says o OK a wing and a thigh.
*Palm to face*
No no no lol this point even the lady is laughing I feel bad because he probably feels embarrassed. I tell him white meat is wing and breast dark meat is leg and thigh. He goes O OK how was I suppose to know that they don't have a chart or anything.
*palm to face*
Just tell them you want white and let's go lol
Because the wing and breast is white meat due to lack of use but the leg and thigh is dark meat due to how they use them the most. Poultry meat becomes darker the more the bird uses that part of their body.
They were having a deal if you buy 2 white meat basket it was a dollar cheaper than the 2 dark basket and the reason places sell the white together and the dark together is because if people came in asking for a breast and a thigh which is the 2 pieces with the most meat they will lose money. By putting the leg and thigh together and the wing and breast together you get about the same amount of meat.
If you go to KFC you will see the 8 piece bucket meal cost less than a 6 piece bucket of breast and thighs because the 8 piece is 2 of every piece so it is cheaper to sell even though you get more food.
I made food for my friends (we’re all 16) and one of them was staring at a prawn, turning it over, looking confused. And then he looked at me and asked, “Am I supposed to eat the soft bit or the crunchy bit?” Turns out he’d never eaten a prawn and was unable to infer which part was made for eating.
