Æ comes after Z, and then would come Ø and Å. In some alphabets.

Maybe because they’re versions of letters which are in the alphabet? Like the french also have like é and â and stuff

We have é,è,ê,ë,œ,æ,à,â,ù,ü,ç, and many more, putting them in the alphabet would be a pain especially since some are pronounced like already existing letters
