That was an utter asshole move on the guy's part. He's lucky if the boy didn't get seriously hurt.

Just want to throw this out there. He is super lucky that the boy in fact wasn't seriously hurt. He wasn't, go find the original video.
As a dad of a 3yo, I want to clarify that kids do some pretty unpredictable things that may make their parents look stupid to someone watching from the outside. My kid walked into the corner of a picnic table while I watched. I figured he was smart enough to stop. My bad. Within a week, he did it again. My bad for expecting him to learn to be more careful around tables. My fault? Maybe, who knows.
I'm not outright defending the dad here. I'm just saying that maybe we don't know the whole story of why dad didn't catch kid from a 10-second gif.
Trust me, I have a 4 year old and 5 nephews, I know they can be...unpredictable to be kind, but the kid was obviously waiting in line, had his arms out and was getting ready to jump when the guy just turned away. Thats not being unpredictable, thats pretty much as clear as can be.
Also, my sister and her brood used to live in a house where the window of one of the boys rooms opened onto the roof if their first story patio. I think you can imagine how that turned out.
That's exactly what this looks like from the comfort of our screens.
But maybe dad had told the kid 45 times already that day not to jump until dad has his hands out.
It's a 10-second gif, and we don't know what has already happened, so let's stop judging the dad.
Video I found you can clearly hear the boy saying "Me me" reguardless of whether he was supposed to jump or not the guy shouldn't have just turned away, he should gave gotten him down. There is a big drop past that tree, which the kid hit, thankfully, because otherwise it would have ended MUCH worse.
*Dad turns away*
He knew what was going to happen.
