Trades are good work. My advice is try for something in demand, preferably a job you can't learn on your own easily like diesel or threaded vehicle where the stakes of hiring a fuckwit make it unwise to grab just anyone who says they can do the job. It helps build value. Now that tech companies are trying to make things like self driving cars disciplines that cross over can get you jobs with companies you wouldn't peg as hiring tradesmen like Google, apple, Amazon, etc. Most of the serious tradesmen I know have gone on to make very good salaries at jobs that most wouldn't think we're in their career paths. Their secret was to take on knowledge and training others didn't have or want, to stay on what was upcoming as a trend, and to keep training. Several went and took classes while working in things like electrical engineering or business and management so they could cross over to higher positions. Best of luck reaper.
Do what works best for you, whether that be education, or a trade. I know more than enough people who have done well for themselves without a degree and some without a HS diploma.
you DO need schooling if you want to go to Harvard
But you don't need a degree to succeed
Lots of people have their Master degree just for shown and lots earn lots of respect without any degree
Not to mention, there are various definitions for "success"
For some people, success is coming home after work knowing that the bills are paid you have all you need and have enough money in the bank that nothing worries you and your child is just as proud of you as you are them.
Invest in yourself. However works for you. Success is guaranteed by a degree and failure isn't guaranteed by not having one. A degree can open doors but in the end it's always about what a person is capable of, what they are worth. Don't bet on being the next Elon Musk, as he says the people who work for him do have degrees. So train, learn, that doesn't always mean a degree. Get experience and meet people. Do what you love. We make goals and travel towards them, then we get there and move on to the next goal. The time to reach those goals can be a long journey. You need to make sure you can enjoy that journey because it's that space in between where you'll be living most of your life. Don't let some dip shit devalue you because you didn't get a piece of paper, amd don't base 4 years of your life a paper, base it on what you learned.
Misconstrued understanding there. Elon did go to one of the top business schools in the world, in fact transferred to it from an equally high ranking university. And then later, he dropped out from, again, one of the bed universities in the world. Queen's, Wharton, and Stanford in that order.
