Added to that South African minister of Home Affairs, Ayanda Dlodlo, is accused of calling Cape Town a country where South Africans stay, and it's not in South Africa's jurisdiction. And although she'd like to help, her hands are tied because it's another country.
Not sure if it's true or not, but personally I think it's too stupid to make up
Just few days back Indian Cricket Team was at this city..
They were asked to shower for 2 mins Max bcz of this shortage..
Imagine if national guests have 2 mins.. terrible situation
Please don't attribute this to climate change. Although I'm sure climate has a role in it, the water shortage is a product of mismanagement and corruption. Warnings of a possible water crisis were issued years ago, this isn't a new thing.
Maybe we should start a gofundme page for desalination, there's a willing, ready, local guy but the government wants someone else, so they won't contract him apparently. Or everyone that flies/drives through the Western Cape can drop of water at certain points?
