Not all that compelling considering all the "normal brains" look different. Your self-diagnosed bullshit still doesn't count.

All the normal brains are taken on different spectrums which would be required to actually show the differences in the neuro-chemical activity. And fyi I'm medically diagnosed with my issues. I had to undergo several tests when I started to have anxiety attacks at the sight of certain knives after a rather unpleasant experience involving a supposed 'girlfriend' (psycho bitch really but I'm not going there on here!)

I think the next step is for things to be diagnosed medically, not psychologically. For some reason, you can talk to a psychologist/counselor about how you feel (emotionally and physically) and then they diagnose you with a mental health disorder, frequently with no medical input or even follow up. Can you imagine if they did this for other disorders and ailments? Like if every time you tell a doctor how you are feeling and they say "Oh it sounds like it's ____. Here take these meds." without doing a physical exam, x-rays, MRI's, bloodwork, etc.

TLDR version: If things are going to be taken seriously as MEDICAL conditions, then they should be diagnosed by someone in the medical field.

Therapist are not authorized to prescribe medication. They are there to help you cope in the physical attributes in your day by day life. Meaning they teach you how to do things differently how to go by your life and in different point of view they allow you to express how you feel in a safe environment. Psychiatrist diagnose you and prescribed to you the best medication they believe can help treat your mental illness. They deal with the chemical balance in your brain. The majority of the time both of these come hand in hand. You have the medication side that helps internal while you have the other that is physical.

The problem is that general practitioners/Family doctors/pediatricians do prescribe meds for people that might or might not have an illness. Psychiatrists are just the modern day fortune teller. And they always have been. Look at Freud he was almost as much of a hack as Jeung. They simply tell you to do the right thing, think for yourself and ignore your guilt. I'll freely admit that some of us have mental illness. And that should be addressed in a group therapeutic safe environment. But small deviations from the norm aren't reason for medication. Extreme deviations are and always have been. In the US we used to have asylums and mental institutions. Unfortunately people with money found that these were a great place to send/hide siblings/wives and children.Today we call these rehab institutions. Most of the American rehabs are cash driven. They like you until the day the insurance runs out. Then they send you back. Sometimes to secondary rehab. Point is we don't know how the brain works

I think you missed my point. None of those professionals use medical tests or means to diagnose. I am not saying that they have no purpose or role, but I am saying that it isn't enough.
