My teacher never taught me typing, everyone in my class was self-taught

I didn't even know some people needed to specifically learn that. I mean for old people who panick easily yeah ok, but... I've never spent time doing that and I still don't need to look at what I'm typing. Same for everyone I know.

that's generational, i went to school just as green screened computers were being standard, so had to learn to type, mostly taught myself after school. But growing up with a keyboard, of course you wouldn't need to be taught.

That kinda makes sense... But my sisters are from '78, '80 and '85 and they have never learned it like this either. It may still be partly geographical, but yeah the generation thing is probably explains a lot.

we got a card board box that was missing on the bottom piece and you would just put it over the keyboard then stick your hands in them.

We played these typing games, there was one with a dog in a barrel and you got points for typing fast and not messing up. I can't remember when I didn't know how to touch type so I can't remember anything but that game

Yeah we had black keyboard covers at my school. But they covered the whole keyboard.
