They've been around for much longer, produced much larger animals, conquered the air, land, and sea (which mammals have ever really conquered the sea and land) and ruled the world for longer than any other group.
Isn’t the blue whale the largest animal ever? Also, the argument that they ruled the earth for longer doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me, that only shows they were better in the past. The time we live in now has predominantly mammals as apex predators (as far as I’m aware anyways), mammals are warm blooded and therefore much more mobile in colder climates, and most of the most intelligent animals are mammals, along with a few birds (and octopuses, but we’re mostly talking about vertebrates here). Not to mention the dominant species who has changed the world more than any other sinngle species (I know of) is a mammal

Largest land predator, largest land animal, largest flying animal, gave rise to birds and reptiles, much higher pain tolerance, most likely will be the first species to move in the moment mammals slip up.

Again, the largest animals you mention are all extinct, I’m talking about the present day, in which mammals haven’t “slipped up” yet
Didn’t know about the pain tolerance thing though, that’s kinda neat
I like both classes of animals, I just think mammals seem to be doing better right now

Mammals are still trying to find one of their classes' "main stays". You know how all classes of animals have that one group that hasn't changed in millions of years? Like fish have sharks, reptiles have crocodillians, amphibians have salamanders, birds have vultures, etc. Other than that, they're damn good.
