You attempt a dish and screw it up, it doesn't matter, you attempt a murder, it matters a lot.
Also, violence is induced very easily.
Not against anything, just stating a fact. I do not agree that games makes murderers.
Games don't make murders anymore than they make chefs. But give a child a car game, horse game, chef game, you may help them discover or grow their interest in baking cakes or whatever. We know that video games dont cause violence. We know that alcohol doesn't cause spousal abuse, and we know that most people if handed a gun won't go shoot up the mall. None of these things CAUSE a problem, but in the hands of someone who has an existing problem they can be a potential problem. Millions enjoy violent video games and live largely law abiding peaceful lives, there's no reason to punish them and take away their enjoyment or rights because a few people may not be stable and may emulate these games. Another key is realizing that just because a violent person played violent games doesn't mean the game fostered that violence. Correlation doesn't equal causality, they probably brushed their teeth too or rode a bus, those things don't create murders.
While I think games don't make murderers, this point does no justice.
Everything you stated is skill / knowledge based.
Killing with weapons is not the same kind of skill...
Taking a gun into a school is not the same skill as studying for years to perform open heart surgery...
But then again that's not really an apt analogy either. If a surgeon wandered the halls of a school doing heart transplants on anyone passing by they'd be at least just as deranged as a school shooter. On a more literal level though, Any idiot can cut out a heart and any idiot can shoot a person with the right tools. To compare a surgeon to a shooter you'd need to compare to a person with years of training and study in marksmanship, working in a legal field with their skills that society has largely deemed of value such as a SWAT team sharp shooter. But I think the point is less about games teaching a skill Utah encouraging behaviors or interests.
