I don't think it was the original plan, I think the decided upon it once they realized they could get the distribution in order. I mean, obviously the exchange is staged... but a year ago I seriously doubt this was the plan.

Why not, this is like the first year they haven't had a movie come out over that weekend in the US. It's no longer Star Wars day. It's Marvel's... and Disney seems perfectly fine with that lol
