The scale may be wrong, and I may in fact be in error as a squircle must fit a specific case. I believe this applies here though. A rounded square is formed by quartering 4 circles and connecting the quarters with straight lines. In casual use though the term is apt and easily understood. So realistically it doesn’t matter much. To be honest I was just being silly any way and meant no disrespect or condescension to @lopan and thank them for sharing this .gif.
It’s a square with rounded edges. The cutter just follows the template, which is the same square shape.
The corners could have been made with a smaller radius, if the cutter itself was a smaller diameter.
